NIOSH Associate Consultant

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
 
The candidate who is interested to become NIOSH Malaysia’s Trainer/Consultant/Assessor/Researcher are required to fulfill, but not limited to, the following:

     1. Obtain MQA /DOSH/Ministry of Health recognized academic/competency qualification in relevant field (preferably in Occupational Safety and
         Health, OSH);
     2. Attended the course and passed the assessment of the Train the Trainer program organized by NIOSH or equivalent program recognized by
         Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF) or NIOSH; FOR TRAINER
     3. Possessed sound knowledge and have at least 3 years of working experience in the respective OSH field;
     4. Physically certified and mentally fit by the physician / doctor;
     5. Willing to travel and conduct training at any training venue arranged by NIOSH or NIOSH’s client;
     6. Willing to be paid as per stipulated in NIOSH Circular on Trainer’s/ Consultant’s/Assessor’s/ Researcher’s Fee; AND
     7. Provide accurate information with regard to personal background, academic qualification, working experiences and etc.

Failure to comply with the above mentioned terms and conditions, the application will be rejected to be considered as NIOSH Malaysia’s Trainer/ Consultant/Assessor/Researcher.
NIOSH Malaysia has the rights to amend any part of the mentioned T&C.

Nestled in the corner of the NIOSH Exhibition Centre at Menara NIOSH, Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye’s Gallery is dedicated to the former chairman, who has served the national institute for 27 years.   

Visitors to the gallery on the second floor of Menara NIOSH could see various photos, books, souvenirs, personal protective equipment (PPE) and other paraphernalia belonged to Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, a Social Activist who is also known as the Icon of Occupational Safety and Health.

The exhibits on display are very significant as they represent many important occasions since Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye joined NIOSH as its director after it was established in 1992 before he was later appointed the chairman in 1994.

Bilakah NIOSH akan mengenakan caj GST?

Bermula pada 1 April 2015, semua produk NIOSH akan dikenakan 6% GST.

Adakah caj GST akan dikenakan kepada semua produk dan perkhidmatan yang dikeluarkan oleh NIOSH?

Ya, caj GST akan dikenakan kepada semua produk dan perkhidmatan yang dtawarkan oleh NIOSH:
  • Yuran kursus / seminar / konferen.
  • Yuran Peperiksaan.
  • Konsultansi.
  • Jualan buku / poster.
  • Penginapan di hostel.

Adakah yuran keahliah NIOSH dikenakan GST?

Tidak, yuran keahlian NIOSH tidak dikenakan GST.

Adakah permohonan rayuan semakan peperiksaan skrip jawapan akan dikenakan caj GST?

Ya, dengan kadar 6%.
Oleh itu, yuran bagi rayuan semakan skrip jawapan adalah sebanyak RM106 bagi setiap kertas jawapan.

Adakah permohonan cetakan sijil salinan kedua akan dikenakan caj GST?

Ya, dengan kadar 6%.
Oleh itu, yuran bagi permohonan cetakan sijil salinan kedua adalah RM53 bagi setiap keping sijil.

Sekiranya calon peperiksaan telah menghantar permohonan lengkap untuk menduduki peperiksaan beserta bayaran tetapi permohonan calon tidak diluluskan atas alasan yang munasabah (misalnya tidak memenuhi syarat minimum kelayakan untuk menduduki peperiksaan), adakah yuran peperiksaan yang telah dibayar beserta caj GST akan dipulangkan?

Ya, keseluruhan yuran peperiksaan termasuk caj GST akan dipulangkan semula kepada calon peperiksaan.

Adakah caj GST akan dikenakan kepada calon setiap kali calon mengulang mana-mana kertas peperiksaan yang gagal?

Ya, caj GST akan dikenakan kepada calon setiap kali calon mengulang mana-mana kertas peperiksaan yang gagal.

Adakah sebutharga yang dikeluarkan oleh pihak NIOSH termasuk GST?

Ya, sebutharga yang dikeluarkan oleh pihak NIOSH telah termasuk caj 6% yang dulunya menggunakan terma Gov. Tax dan akan ditukar terma kepada GST bermula 1 April 2015.

Adakah harga servis lab termasuk caj GST?

Ya, caj GST akan dikenakan bermula tarikh kuatkuasa GST pada 1 April 2015.

Training

How?

1.
You will need to identify the name and dates of the course you wish to take. You may refer to our Course Calendar.
2.
Apply at online registration on the NIOSH website via e-registration.
3.
Choose the location and date.
4. State the payment type.
5. Pay the course fee via online payment. Course registration is confirmed after payment of the fee is made.
6. Applicant will be able to download offer letter at NIOSH Website.
   

What are the requirements necessary to attend NIOSH training courses?

THE REQUIREMENT VARIES DEPENDING ON THE TYPES OF COURSES.
1.
OSH Awareness Programmes
  • The courses are open to all and no requirements or qualifications are needed. You just need to complete our training application form and follow the procedures
2.
Competency/ Cetificate Programmes
 
Safety and Health Officer Certificate Programme:
  1. Malaysian citizen; AND
  2. Possess a minimum of SPM/ SPMV/ MCE or equivalent with at least a Grade Three Pass. General certificate (SAP) or lower than Grade three will not be accepted.
  3. For SPM/SPMV after year 2000, a minimum of 6C for Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics AND minimum 8E for Science/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology AND pass other 2 subjects in 1 certificate/ examination or combination.
  4. Applicants must attach ONE (1) certified true copy of SPM/ SPMV/ MCE Certificate/Diploma/ Degree AND Identification Card
 
Occupational Health Doctor Certificate Programme:
  1. Malaysian citizen; AND
  2. Fully registered medical practitioner with Malaysian Medical Council.
 
Occupational Health Nurse Certificate Programme:
  • Applicant has to be a nurse registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board. Please attach your Nursing Board Registration letter with the training application form.

 
Hygiene Technician 1 & 2 Certificate Programme:
  1. Malaysian citizen; AND
  2. Possess a Diploma in Engineering, or Natural & Applied Sciences recognised by the   Government of  Malaysia; OR
  3. Possess the Higher School Certificate / Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a principal in any science subject, or a Polytechnic Engineering certificate or equivalent.
 
Chemical Health Risk Assessment Certificate Programme:
  1. Malaysian citizen; AND
  2. Possess a Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Safety And Health; Occupational  Safety; Occupational Health; or Industrial / Occupational Hygiene recognised by the Government of Malaysia; OR
  3. Possess a Degree in Medicine, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Ergonomics or  matural and Applied Sciences, recognised by the Government of Malaysia: OR
  4. Possess a Diploma in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Ergonomics, Natural  and Applied Sciences or Nursing recognised by the Government of Malaysia.
 
Indoor Air Quality Assessor Certificate Programme:
  1. Malaysian citizen; AND
  2. At least Diploma in Pure or Applied Sciences; OR

  3. Registered Assessor under OSH (USECHH) Regulations 2000; OR
  4. Registered Hygiene Technician 1 under OSH (USECHH) Regulations 2000.
 
Authorised Gas Tester and Entry Supervisor Certificate Programme:
  1. Malaysian citizen.
  2. Able to communicate verbally and write in Malay or English.
  3. Attended and passed the AESP / AESP-R course.
  4. Possess valid AESP / AESP-R card.
  5. Physically and mentally fit to enter the confined space as stated in the Health Examination checklist (ICOP for Confined Space 2010).

Noise Risk Assessor Certificate Programme:
  1. Malaysian citizen; AND
  2.  Possess minimum a Diploma in Science, Diploma in Engineering or Diploma in   Occupational Safety and Health accredited by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
 
 

Do I qualify to become a NIOSH facilitator / trainer?

You qualify if you:
1.
Possess a minimum Bachelors Degree in Occupational Safety and Health and minimum five (5) years working experience in a related area, or
2.
Possess a minimum Bachelors Degree in Engineering Science, Chemistry, Medical, Health or Environment and a minimum five (5) years working experience in a related area, or
3.
Possess a minimum of then (10) years working experience in Occupational Safety and Health or a related area. and/or
4.
Possess any Competency Certificate recognized by the Government of Malaysia.
